CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR VARIOUS ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2020/21 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Institute of Social Work (ISW) invites applications from qualified candidates for admission into following programmes to be offered in the academic year 2020/2021 for both Dar es Salaam and Kisangara Campus:

A. Basic Technician Certificate Programmes – (NTA Level 4) in: -

1. Social Work (Dar es Salaam and Kisangara Campus)
2. Business Administration
3. Labour Relations and Public Management
4. Human Resource Management
5. Community Work with Children and Youth
   Minimum Entry Qualifications

1. (i)  The applicant must have at least four (4) passes (in any excluding religious subjects) at Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE).
   OR
2. (ii)  The applicant who holds at least a six (6) months certificate from any institution
   recognized by NACTE or NVA Level 3.
   B. Ordinary Diploma Programmes – (NTA Level 5) in: -

1. Social Work (Dar es Salaam and Kisangara Campus)
2. Business Administration
3. Labour Relations and Public Management
4. Human Resource Management
   Minimum Entry Qualifications

Direct Entry:

(i) The applicant must have at least a minimum of one (1) principal pass and a subsidiary at Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) in appropriate subjects that will amount to a minimum of 1.5 points (i.e. at least one E and S). In addition, the applicant must have four (4) credits from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - excluding religious subjects.

Equivalent Entry:

(i) The applicant with a Basic Technician Certificate from an institution recognized by NACTE with a minimum GPA of 2.0. In addition, the applicant must have Four (4) passes from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) - excluding religious subjects.

OR

(ii)The applicant who holds a Certificate in Nursing/Midwifery and related courses, and Certificate in Education (Grade III A) with an average of C from institutions recognized by NACTE. In addition, the applicant must have at least four (4) passes from Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE)- excluding religious subjects.

Applicants are required to apply through the Online Application System (OAS) link: https://oas.isw.ac.tz/OAS/ or via the Institute’s website www.isw.ac.tz, and pay a non-refundable fee of Tshs. 10,000/= for Tanzanians or USD 30.00 for non-Tanzanians.

NOTE: The Institute of Social Work has a new Campus located at Mwanga in Kilimanjaro Region (known as Kisangara Campus) which will be offering training in Social work programmes only at Certificate and Diploma levels (NTA Level 4 and 5). The Institute welcomes interested students to apply for admission to its new Campus which was initially run by the Government through the Ministry of Health Community Development Gender, Elderly and Children.

 Applicants who want to study at Kisangara Campus or Dar es Salaam Campus should indicate campus of choice in their applications.
