The late Jerry Isaac Mruma

From Mrs. Ritah Asunda,
Deputy Vice Chancellor
Student Affairs & Enrollment Management
United States International University
Nairobi, Kenya

"Dear USIU Community,
It is with deep sorrow that we regret to announce the death of Jerry Isaac Mruma, who until his death was an MBA major, the SAC Representative for Graduate students and a member of various committees in the university.
Jerry's body was found yesterday after a frantic search undertaken by the USIU Acting Head of Security, the Police and other members of the USIU Community.

The search began soon after he was reported missing to the Dean of Students. His death comes even before we as a community have come to terms with the death of Brian Frisby who passed on in a fatal car accident. The deaths of the two students come as a big blow to the USIU community and we pass our sincere condolences to their families and friends.

May God rest their souls in eternal peace."

BELOW IS THE MESSAGE SENT EARLIER

Jerry Isaac Mruma is a Tanzanian USIU-Africa Student (in Nairobi, Kenya) who went missing on Saturday night. (You may click here to watch him in this video)
Jerry had left the Tanzania Night at Pan Afrique Hotel and spoke to his friend Ogwellah at around 11:40PM

Another friend tells that Jerry had called her to inform her that he was on his way home. Unfortunately, he never got there. She has not heard nor seen Jerry since Saturday and calls to his phone aren't going through. She has filed a report with the Police for missing persons.

  1. So sorry to see this fine young man taken too soon. Jerry was an outstanding student in the joint USIU and Colorado State University SEMBAA program. His dream was to build a sustainable enterprise to benefit small agricultural producers and processors and he was squarely on a path to greatness. Jerry's long-distance friends and colleagues at Colorado State University are deeply saddened at this senseless loss of precious life.

    Sincerely,
    Carl Hammerdorfer
    Director, GSSE MBA
    Colorado State University.
