Celebrated film producer Donald Ranvaud (Constant Gardner, City of God) seen here with President Obama and First lady Michelle Obama, has joined the list of luminaries supporting the restoration of the Majestic Cinema in Stonetown, Zanzibar.
A major feature of ZIFF 2011 the old historical cinema has seen better days and now ZIFF fights for its restoration to its fomer glory.
Filmmaker Nick Broomfield (ZIFF's Chief Guest ZIFF 2011), Danny Scheschter (US Media Analyst), Donal McCusker (Producer Hurt Locker, 2011 Academy Winner) and Paul Miller (Producer Prozac Nation) have all joined in to call for concerted efforts to save this magnificent building of historical importance to the whole world. Stonetown is a nominated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
