Harambee Ya Kusaidia Walioathirika Na Mafuriko

PRESS RELEASE

A UNITED CAMPAIGN TO ASSIST THE TANZANIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY TO HELP THE FLOOD VICTIMS IN DIFFERENT REGIONS OF TANZANIA
WHO WE ARE:

We are a consortium of Tanzanian members who belong to http://www.jamiiforums.com/, http://www.mwanakijiji.com/ and http://www.issamichuzi.blog.com/, and supporters of the named online communities. We have united our efforts with the Tanzanian Network of Professionals (TPN.co.tz) to assist the Tanzanian Red Cross Red Crescent Society to raise funds and much need materials to assist the victims of the ongoing flood that has engulfed some parts of the country especially Morogoro, Dodoma, Mwanza, and Shinyanga.
Introduction:

Up to now, over 40,000 people have been affected by the torrential rainfalls that have caused flooding and displaced about 10,000 people and more people are still feared to be affected. The rains have also destroyed infrastructure, workplaces, and farming which will affect food production in the country.

The increase in waterborne diseases such as Typhoid and Cholera is also feared as most people find themselves in unsanitary environment and using untreated water.
The campaigns aim to empower the Tanzanian Red Cross Society with material and funds and other resources to be able to assist the victims of the current flood and enable it to be well prepared to face future disasters and catastrophic situations.

For sometimes now Tanzanians have waited for other generous people in developed countries to give help in time of disasters in our country. While we recognize and appreciate the kindness and good hearts of these people and organizations we believe we too can and must stand united to show each other we really care and are able to assist each other in time like this. We believe Tanzanians are good and kind people and when called to action they will rise up and seize the moment.
Please use the following two documents in your columns.

The first one is the document that shows 8 different ways of contributing and the other is a collection of pictures taken from some affected areas showing the works of the Red Cross helping the victims.
