Unesco National Commission for Tanzania, organised a women empowerment workshop, titled "UNESCO Cultivating Women Empowerment".The workshop took place on Friday, the 8th of April 2016 at British council in Dar es salaam.
The workshop was organised in an effort to implement the United Nations 17 global goals for sustainable development that put women at the forefront of development, specifically sustainable development goal no.5 that seeks to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls in the effort to attain planet 50-50 by 2030.
Cultivating Women Empowerment workshop was set to equip young women with the required skills to professionally grow and develop skills which include, Corporate Protocol and Communication Etiquette, Emotional Intelligence, Leadership and Negotiations skills together with Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship. The workshop involved presentation, discussions, sharing experience and Networking among participants and Speakers
UNESCO National Commission invited speakers who delivered presentation on different topics the speakers include, Dr. Vicensia Shule from the University of Dar es Salaam, Doris Mollel from Doris Mollel Foundation, Anna Mtembei from DICE Micro finance and Judith Mwaya from Unesco National Commission.
The Workshop gave women a platform to discuss and share issues that aim at achieving Sustainable development.
