The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Tanzania is pleased to report that its two former Presidents and current Directors have been nominated to serve on the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Global influential committees.
Augustino Mbogella, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), FCPA (T) has been nominated to serve on the International Internal Audit Standards Board (IIASB) whose mission is to develop, issue, maintain, and promote the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) on a worldwide basis.
Ahadi Chacha, Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), FCPA (T) has been nominated to the Public Sector Audit Committee whose mission is to influence, and provide leadership and advice to The IIA and its international committees on public sector auditing matters and to promote the interests of The IIA’s public sector audit members.
These nominations put Tanzania at the global map of the internal audit profession which is growing in importance and scope. The timing is perfect considering that the profession of internal audit in Tanzania,particularly in public sector is aligning itself with global best practice.
‘Having played a role in developing the profession in Tanzania, in the East African region and Africa at large, I feel honoured and privileged to have been given an opportunity to serve the profession at the highest level globally” says, Mbogella. I will work hard to represent my country and the profession well at this level, added Mbogella.
“The nominations are a reflection of the trust that the internal audit profession in the world has on Tanzania. It is recognition of the role that IIA Tanzania has played in advancing the profession in Tanzania and abroad. IIA Tanzania and its members should feel proud of this recognition, which is well deserved”, says Chacha.
