Police Commends SGA Security for Training Standards

The OCD for Kawe, Kinondoni in Dar es Salaam, SP Jiliyo Simba  has praised the standards of SGA Security training . He was the chief guest in a pass-out parade during the graduation of 75 officers who successfully completed basic guard training.  The ceremony was held on Saturday July 29, 2017 at SGA training base in Mbezi Beach. Only 75 made the cut out of 179 who were in training, showing the high standards of the training.  The rest will continue to train. 

Mr Simba also inspected the company facilities including the response vehicles, fire response and the control room systems.  He was impressed by the investment made by the company and the controls in place within their operations, particularly the tracking systems. 'I didn't expect this level of preparedness and training standard from a security company given that we are used to shoddy work of many companies ', he added. 
He lauded SGA efforts and implored them remain as great examples to the rest of the companies.  He urged the guards to remain a good example to the rest and remain true to the training received during the course. 

SGA Security HRM , Ebenezer Kaale, explained that the course  contains several units including customer care, fire fighting,  first aid, principles of human rights, amongst many core security subjects.

 'We believe that we have imparted basic security training to enable perform their duties diligently', he said. Before recruitment,  rigorous vetting is carried out on all applicants. Fingerprints are taken to check against crime record by Ministry of Home Affairs officers.  Medical examination is also carried out to test fitness and stamina before being subjected to training. 

During the ceremony, best performing trainees were awarded and feted by the chief guest.  Also feted were two guards who pre-empted theft of their customers' property during performance of their duties. It is the culture of the security company to recognise outstanding performance and certificate and cash reward issued during parades to motivate the rest. 


Also present was Kinondoni RCO SSP John Malulu, who was the immediate OCD for Kawe. Mr Malulu lauded SGA Security for cooperation given to his team when he was in charge in Kawe police district,   saying that it made the job of the police lighter.  


He pointed out that SGA provided patrol vehicles during weekends and holidays and supprted police in repairing some of their vehicles. 'SGA was always first in response to their customers and their neighbours and that contributed to  reduced crime rate.  I count on your support in my new role ' ,  he added. 

SGA Security Managing Director ,  Mr Eric Sambu,  said that the company, which is the largest in the country, focuses more on training to empower their employees to perform their duties to meet and surpass the expectations of their customers. 'Training for us is the key ingredient to our success story and we focus on all categories of employees nationally ', he added. The concluded yesterday another training for internal audit team for ISO 9001 : 2015, on Quality Management, which the company is certified since 2001.
